Practice Description:
Updated for 2020: Clients may choose in person meetings with social distancing or virtual by Zoom. Tonya's services include the following: Family law mediation, preparation of all documents in uncontested "kitchen table" family law cases, Co-Mediation (team model) and individual legal representation in collaborative method and uncontested family law cases. Tonya also offers hourly legal coaching consultation for self-represented litigants who need help with a specific aspect of their case.
Approach to Practice / Form of Mediation:
Tonya's approach is client centered, cooperative, settlement oriented, and facilitative utilizing collaborative method if parties desire in a non-threatening and amicable setting. Tonya has been trained to utilize a "strategic toolbox" approach in mediation from master mediator/ trainer Forrest "Woody" Mosten and is flexible depending on the individual needs and dynamics of each unique family.
Background:
Tonya brings 20 years of experience to helping families resolve conflicts. She has devoted her career to family law exclusively since graduating from law school in 2001. She is currently a board member of the non-profit statewide collaborative group, Oregon Association of Collaborative Professionals, a board member of Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, and a founding member of her practice group Bridges Collaborative Divorce Solutions. Outside of her law practice, Tonya devotes her time to her 3 children, ages 1 to 12. You're likely to find her chasing her toddler around the baseball field where her boys spend most of their time, or paddleboarding on a nearby lake enjoying the Pacific Northwest.

BS Finance, 1998 from Portland State University, honors
J.D. Law, 2001 from Lewis and Clark Law School
3 different multi-day collaborative law trainings
Mediation training through Oregon State Bar (2001-2008) and 2-day Conflict Resolution Training (2009)
Intensive 5 day divorce mediation training in May 2010 with Forrest "Woody" Mosten in LA, California.
Various 1 day seminars and Conferences, workshops, and trainings ongoing basis whenever offered in the Pacific NW.
