Practice Description:
Experienced in assisting parties to resolve disputes in a variety of settings, with the primary emphasis being workplace conflict resolution including individuals, teams, and labor /management conflicts. I draw on over 30 years experience to find the best method to help the parties resolve differences and create a path forward. In the process, I help parties gain skills to resolve their own conflicts in the future.
Approach to Practice / Form of Mediation:
I utilize a variety of tools based on the needs of the situation. I start with individual intake interviews with parties to learn more about the issues. This allows for a more productive conflict resolution experience and makes the best use of everyone's time. I approach the process to not only help parties feel empowered to move forward and gain skills for future conflict resolution on their own but to also heal the prior issues that lead to the breakdown in communication.
Background:
Over 30 years experience as a mediator including assisting parties reach resolution in multiple settings including workplace: supervisor and employee, 2 employees and helping teams resolve conflict and move to a more productive and engaging state. Have extensive experience in human resources management and labor relations experience to draw on. Also experienced in other settings, see listing.
Education / Training:
Initial mediation training -1990 multiple advanced mediation courses and updates - 1991 to date
Bachelors in Economics
Masters in Industrial and Labor Relations
